 Rules & Regulations of the Game for 20 Overs
 RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE GAME FOR TWENTY (25,30,35,45) OVERS
  1. The time allowed for the matches is as under (inclusive of drinks interval).
        a) 40 overs 165 minutes
        b) 35 overs 145 minutes
        c) 30 overs 125 minutes
        d) 25 overs 105 minutes

  2. In case a team bowling first fails to bowl the full quota of overs in the stipulated time, then they have to bowl the full quota of overs but will play the no. of overs they bowled in the stipulated time.

  3. The over limit for each bowler is as under:
        During 25 overs match : maximum 5 overs by each bowler
        During 30 overs match : maximum 6 overs by each bowler
        During 35 overs match : maximum 7 overs by each bowler
        During 40 overs match : maximum 8 overs by each bowler

  4. POINTS
    During league matches points shall be given as under:

      Win  4
      Wash out/No Result  2
      Loss  0
      Tie  Bowl Out

    In the event of team finishing on equal points, the right to play in the semifinal will be determined as follows:
        The team with the most number of wins.
        The team with the most number of wins over the other team(s).
        The team with the highest net run rate.
        In a match declared as no result, run rate is not applicable.
    NET RUN RATE
    A team’s net run rate is calculated by deducting from the average runs per over scored by that team through out the league phase, the average runs per over conceded by that team throughout the league phase. In the event of a team all out less than its full quota of overs, calculation of its net run rate shall be based on the full quota of overs to which it would have been entitled and not on the number of overs in which the team was dismissed.

  5. During the power play overs maximum two fielders are allowed outside the 30 yards circle as well as two fielders will remain in catching position i.e. in 15 yard circle. After the completion of power play, maximum five fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle and there is no restriction on catching position fielders.

  6. Restriction of placement of fielders DURING POWER PLAY

        During 40 overs match : 12 overs
        During 35 overs match : 11 overs
        During 30 overs match : 9 overs
        During 25 overs match : 8 overs

    In circumstances where the number of overs for the team batting first/second is reduced, the number of overs in regard to power play shall be reduced according to table below:

    10-11    3 12-14    4 15-18    5 19-21    6 22-24    7
    25-28    8 29-31   9 32-34    10 35-38    11 39-40    12

     

  7. INTERRPUTION OF MATCH
    In case of rain or any other reason, if a match is truncated, then for a decision the team batting second should have played at least 10 overs.
        In case less then 10 overs have been bowled by the fielding second:
        2 points each shall be given in league phase
        The semi finals shall be decided on spin of coin
         In the finals teams shall be declared joint winners.
    In case more than 10 overs have been bowled by the team fielding second it shall constitute a match.
    For any match interrupted due to rain or any other reason the overs to be played shall be fixed by the two umpires.
    For a decision e.g. if a team ‘A’ has scored 240 runs in 40 overs (Aveg 6.00) the team “B’ to win must score @ 6.1 runs per over where the match is stopped and not at cut off point (10 over) even if one ball of the new over is bowled the over shall be deemed to have been completed e.g. if the match stops at 12.1 overs the team ‘B’ has to score 79 runs to win.

  8. TIE
    In matches in which both teams have had the opportunity of batting for the agreed number of overs, the team scoring the higher number of runs shall be the winner. If the scores are equal, the result shall be a tie and no account shall be taken of the number of wickets, which have fallen. In all such cases the result shall be obtained through Bowl Out.

    Procedure for the Bowl Out
    The following procedure will apply for a bowl out be adopted:
    Subject to weather conditions the bowl out will take place on the scheduled day of the match at a time to be determined by the organizing committee.
    The bowl out will take place on the pitch allocated for the match (the designatedpitch) unless otherwise determined by the umpires in consultation organizing committee.
    A full set of stumps, including bails, will be pitched at both ends of the designated pitch.
    The bowlers will all bowl from the same end.
    The captains shall toss a coin for the right to decide which team bowls first or second in the bowl out. The umpires/referee will supervise the toss in the normal manner.
    The captains shall nominate their six bowlers to each other, the umpires and referee prior to the toss. In the event of injury during the bowl out, the injured player may be replaced by another bowler.
    The wicket keeper can not bowl & is not permitted to stand up to the stumps.
    No bowler will be allowed a practice delivery.
    The umpires will stand in their normal positions and will be responsible for officially recording the number of ‘hits’ on the wicket. Their decision shall be final as to the result.
    The umpires/referee will be responsible for making sure only the chosen bowlers actually bowl, and that no bowler bowls more than once until permitted to do so.
    The bowls are taken alternately by the teams.
    The team with the most number of hits after six bowls shall be declared the winner.
    If, after both teams have taken six bowls, both have scored the same number of hits on the wicket, or have not scored any hits, bowls continue to be taken in the same order until one team has scored a hit more than the other from the same number of bowls. That team shall be declared the winner.
    Only the eligible players and match officials are permitted to remain on the field of play when the bowls are being taken.
    In the case of an infringement the umpire shall call ‘no ball’ and the delivery shall be considered a miss and will not be retaken.

  9. The teams have to complete the match even if they have any objection (protest). They may hand over the protest letter to the scorer and complete the match. If a team stages a walkout it will be expelled from the tournament. The protest fee is Rs. 2000/- (Non-refundable).

  10. In-discipline in any form will make a team liable for expulsion, on receipt of report from match umpires/referee/observer.

  11. No protest will be entertained on the decision of umpire/scorer and the decision of the tournament committee is final and binding.

  12. One bouncer per over is allowed (that passes or would have passed above the shoulder height of the striker standing upright at the crease, but not clearly above the batsman’s head).

  13. Free Hit after a foot-fault no ball
    The delivery following a no ball called for a foot fault shall be a free hit for whichever batsman is facing it. If the delivery for the free hit is not a legitimate delivery (any kind of no ball or a wide ball), then the next delivery will become a free hit for whichever batsman is facing it. For any free hit, the striker can be dismissed only under the circumstances that apply for a no ball, even if the delivery for the free hit is called wide ball. Field changes are permitted for free hit deliveries.

  14. All other rules of one-day cricket are applicable.
